Michigan has to figure out how to begin implementing provisions of the Affordable Care Act, after postponing major action until last week’s Supreme Court decision. The state legislature is leaning toward a state insurance exchange program, rather than one run by the federal government. Friday was the deadline for Michigan to apply for this round of federal funds for the exchange program. Michigan has received almost $1 million thus far to start the exchange.
