A team from the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics released a map today of the key counties and cities within the battleground state of Ohio.
Findings revealed that while still a key state in the presidential election, Ohio doesn’t pack the punch it once did in the Electoral College, as over the years the state has become regionally divided. Election trends show that northeast Ohio tends to vote Democratic, with support for Republican candidates and views increasing as one moves southwest across the state.
The team also released similar maps for the swing states of Virginia and North Carolina with data on their voting trends as well as a map of the nation overall.
