Would you say you, yourself are better off financially than you were when Obama became president, not as well off, or in about the same shape as then financially?
“I’m about in the same shape financially now as I was before he became president,” said Carinna Dennis. a Wayne State University student and independent voter.
“I am not as well off when you count my family,” said Lori Rinaldi, a library clerk and senior from Wayne State University. “I don’t think President Obama has done a whole lot for the economy; I understand that there have been a lot of issues that neither he nor anybody else could have known about.
“Mr. Romney is a businessman. In the business aspect of running a country, I think Romney would do a good job as in finances, while I have other issues with him,” said Rinaldi, a Democrat from Hamtramck.
“I feel that we are in a better financial standing since Obama. Some examples include programs such as: DTE Energy coming out to low income neighborhoods and installing energy-saving light bulbs to reduce electricity bills. Also, programs that help fund veterans going back to school. These are just a few programs that are in place to help people,” said another Michigan University student who did not want to be identified.
