From the Detroit Free Press:
Hoekstra relentlessly kept his focus on Stabenow throughout the primary campaign, criticizing her for what he says is runaway spending in government. For months, it appeared Hoekstra would be the nominee, and Bill Ballenger, the publisher of Lansing-based Inside Michigan Politics, said Tuesday it was only a matter of how big a win he would have.
Former U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra beat Republican challenger Clark Durant, 56-31 in the Michgian Republican Senate primary on Tuesday. Hoekstra now moves to the general election in November to face off with Democratic challenger and current U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
