It’s awful. It’s despicable. It’s evil. It’s tragic. It’s heartbreaking. It’s infuriating. But the mass murder at the Colorado movie theater is not … shocking.
Not anymore.
If anything, the most shocking aspect of a horrific incident like the Aurora shootings is that horrific incidents like this are no longer shocking.
I was looking at a list – a very long list – of mass shooting in the United States since 1999, which is not that long ago.
I’m ashamed to say there are incidents on the list that I did not remember.
