Recovery Act

“
It will help generate construction jobs immediately and more jobs in the future as it spurs development in and around Detroit.”
-U.S. Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), in the Detroit Free Press, on the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery program (TIGER), which will provide a $10-million federal grant to improve bike and pedestrian connections within Detroit and surrounding areas. Detroiters can look forward to separate lanes for cyclists and vehicles.
The Link Detroit project is one of 47 projects in 34 states and the District of Columbia to share $500 million in federal funding from the Recovery Act. TIGER is in its fourth round of funding.
