Vice President Joe Biden made a campaign stop in Merrimack, N.H on Saturday, concluding a two-day campaign swing through the Granite State. Biden, speaking before a crowd of about 500, took shots at Mitt Romney’s “47 percent” comments.
“Ladies and gentlemen, he genuinely believes this. Just look at what they are proposing,” Biden told the crowd. “How can someone have such a profound misunderstanding of the American people?”

“Mitt Romney has made his decision; now Congressman Meehan’s votes for the Ryan plan to privatize Medicare are all the more real, serious, and dangerous,” said George Badey, who spoke alongside fellow congressional candidates Katherine Boockvar and Manan Trivedi.
Badey is challenging Meehan in a district centered in Delaware County; Trivedi is taking on Gerlach in a Chester County-based district, and Boockvar opposes Fitzpatrick in a Bucks County-centered race. Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, who has been considered as a potential running mate for Romney, will appear at the New Hampshire Young Republican annual convention at St. Anselm College today.
He is also expected campaign door-to-door in Manchester before stopping at a Republican ice cream social in the city’s downtown area, and a barbecue in Derry, N.H.

In the Senate, Rob Portman of Ohio, Marco Rubio of Florida, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and John Thune of South Dakota commonly appear on lists of possible running mates. Scorecards that measured voting records in 2011 suggest that among these, Rubio had the most conservative voting record and Portman the most moderate. Ayotte and Thune came in somewhere in between.
